Our Story
Rebecca is the founder and head trainer of BSF. She has been teaching aquatic programs and providing fitness training for 30yrs. She has a degree in Kinesiology and Psychology, as well as a personal training certificate from Seneca College. She is a mother of two special needs boys and believes that being physically active is important for all ages!

Broad Strokes Fitness acknowledges that every student is not the same and they learn and growly differently. The end goals can be the same but the journey to get there may look differently. Our programs are modified and tailored to best suit each students needs, which includes swim lessons, fitness training and leaderships training. When students are geared with the fundamental skills, they are set up for success.

Our Adapted swim programs were originally designed around Rebecca's son Noah who has ASD and ADHD. He had difficulty learning in the regular group setting, along with struggling to grasp the swim skills. Social stories, visual boards and a reward system encouraged him to try new things and became to be successful in class. Thanks to him, Rebecca created a modified program specifically for ASD individual’s to enjoy swim lessons and fitness programs.

About
My name is Rebecca Friesner
I am a mother of two special needs children (Noah and Colby), who remind me daily that every challenge we face must be tackled in smaller realistic goals. Keep the journey fun, and remember to appreciate the hard work and rewards in all tasks big and small.

Laugh when tasks are tough, stay motivated and keep positive.
